Maluhia Designs

I know that many of you are fans of Etsy, as am I. Therefore, you can imagine my excitement each year when our city hosts many of our talented local Etsy crafters in what is known as EtsyRain.

This year was my second year of attendance, and I was pleased to come across a booth by the name of Maluhia. Right away, the name attracted me (as it is a very Polynesian name), so of course I was interested in what she was offering.

Maluhia creates a variety of pouches, bibs, cosmetic bags and glasses cases for children (and adults alike). The fabrics she uses are from Japan, and are very kawaii. I've searched for fabrics similar to these, and they are not easy to find in your neighborhood fabric store.

She manned her own booth, and was very sweet. You can tell when meeting her, that she puts a lot of heart into her designs.

I picked out a couple of bibs that will be great to throw into a Christmas present. These two are for 7 month old twins--a boy and a girl.

Of course, I couldn't resist the glasses case with the little deer on them. I've worn glasses since the age of 6--and no matter how many cases I have, they always get lost. I'm hoping this isn't the story with this guy.

I hope to run across her again at another event we have coming up--Urban Craft Uprising. This is a larger event that pulls together so much creativity, it can be a bit overwhelming!

Do you think these would bring a smile to the faces of any kids (or big kids) in your life? Are there any other Etsy fanatics out there?

Speaking of cute, how cute are these little Pa nail polishes from Japan?

Hard Candy Beetle...You Like? - CLOSED

Congratulations Saimese! You are the winner of this giveaway...
you have been emailed ;)

While recently browsing the new Hard Candy offerings, I came across a polish that looked vaguely familiar. No, I hadn't seen the specific bottle before--but I felt like I had something like it.

why hello there!

Hard Candy's Beetle looks nearly identical to Orly's Space Cadet, and MAC's Mean and Green. Thing is, it's much cuter with the little ring that comes attached to the brush handle (if only they were still jelly-ish like back in the day) and the other two are impossible to find on shelves. Of course I don't need another one of these multi-chrome beauties, but I thought one of you might like it ;)

So here we are. Leave a comment telling me what this shade reminds you of (if you do in fact want it), and I'll send it to one of you next Friday. I figure that many readers outside of the US no longer have access to Hard Candy, but of course this is open to anyone.

Stay tuned for some nail posts--we're going all sorts of crazy with them!
