The heat here is gaining by the day. Yesterday we had highs of 95 degrees, and today is expected to move upwards. Although I won't directly complain about the weather (I really do enjoy warm weather), I will say that because we have such extreme highs and lows, we never really prepare properly for the temperature change. I ran around the house desperate for something that would cool me down, and then I spotted it--an aerosol can of Awapuhi Moisture Mist by Paul Mitchell. I had picked this baby up a few months back, when the Mr. was having a haircut. Bored and anxious for the 20 minutes to fly by (yes, that's how long it takes--can you imagine getting out of the salon that quickly?), I began to peruse the product offerings. This spray can be used on the hair, or body as a light moisturizer--and I love a moisturizer that can be sprayed! After bringing it home, I noticed that it also contained spirulina (I drink the stuff religiously) and plankton. Even better.Moisture-wise, it's only alright--but in terms of a cool spray on a hot and humid day, I have yet to find better! It reminds me a bit of my mom, in the sense that she used to have us tote around Evian mist in a bottle--"spray your face!" she'd say, every time the weather got warmer than fifty degrees. I've been popping up behind the hubby left and right spraying him when he least expects it, and apart from the initial comments which shall remain unrepeated, I think he's enjoying it too!
What are your secrets for beating the heat?

The initial comments :P Yes im sure they were colorfull!
Sounds like a great product.. i have the evian spray with me always but I took about 6 bottles from my dad's house. When it comes to funding my own habbit.. i cant help but feel a little silly paying for water!!!
Sounds like a great refressher... I also love spray products (and im a sucker for multi use ones too!) Does it make you greasy at all as it is a moisturizer?
Lush toners are brilliant. I use the Tea Tree one and it's great because it's natural, literally just Tea tree oil, water and some other essential oils. It's nice to just mist it over your face after keeping it in the fridge too! I live in England though and hot weather isn't a big problem for us right now! xx
@tali: i feel the same way about the evian--i was never sure why we couldn't just use regular spray bottles--but oh well.
i picked this one up with the intention of it being a really good moisturizer, but it's not quite that...the mist is so fine, that even though it has moisturizing agents, it comes off feeling more like a spritz of water--it does some good, but it's not greasy. It reminds me of the Ojon product which is similar (and also multi-use), but less moisturizing or thick.
@onyx: i love the scent of tea tree, so i'll have to check that one out! does Lush's sister store also carry mists?
I haven't used any Paul Mitchell stuff in ages...I'm gonna have to check them out sometime.
I'm using the Sublime Bronze on both my face and body. I love it for my face especially since it's a spray so it isn't greasy at all.
@tiff: in general, i'm not a big fan of their line (on exception of one of their flat irons), so i was surprised to find this amongst hair products!
i grabbed the sublime gel once before, but then chickened out from using it. i was scared of streaks--maybe i'll try the spray! x
I use Evian and Avene sprays quite a lot, especially in the winter when the heating saps the moisture from the skin.
This P. Mitchell stuff sounds great, especially with regards to its ingredients and now that you've said it has a fine mist, which is great news.
I always wanted to try this brand's gloss drops (hair serum), which is apparently what a lot of A-listers wear?
Sorry to hear about the heat there, I totally sympathise...:)
Those spray thingies rock, right now I 'm using the Vichy Thermal Water one...I think it soothes my skin too! ;)
xoxoxo
@su-pah: my stylist used to use those drops for ages--very good, but I tell ya..everytime I use them I think I go overboard! Grease city!
@tina_mbc: crazy how we may be in some of the only cities that are roasting right now, while everyone else in the world seems to be having storms! xx
