I've sort of stumbled into an area of no return, lately. I go in and out of buying huge hauls of makeup--but after watching about 1000 YouTube rundowns of items that makeup gurus were buying, I felt as though I had to get to my nearest store and buy whatever I could get my hands on. I didn't go that crazy...but I might as well have. The next few posts will probably shed some light on my latest must-haves, that I now do have.
As for this first one, I never ever in a million years thought that I would let myself stoop to this. NYX Cosmetics, is a very affordable line of makeup that you tend to find at small clothing boutiques in outlet malls. I suppose this is what kept me from even touching it for all of these years. However, I had recently discovered the many girls who've been raving about one particular item. Their Jumbo Eye Pencils are very similar to MAC's Shadesticks (I think that was what they were called), in that they are fatty pencils used like an eyeshadow. But--and I almost can't believe I'm typing this--they are SO much better than their MAC counterparts. This is why:
They are cheaper ($3.50).
They are smoother.
They deliver better color.
Can you believe it? The thought of coloring over my whole lid with a pencil makes me want to cringe. The majority of eye pencils are very sharp, and tend to require some warming up between the hands, in order to prevent them from poking through your tissue paper-like lids. But not these. And for this rock bottom price? You know I had to pick it up in Cottage Cheese (great as a brow highlighter), Yogurt (been wearing it for the last three days straight!), and Iced Mocha. And I'm not done. I'm gonna just go ahead and call it a day, and get the rest of the collection. Next up? Pots and Pans, and Lemon. In no way are the colors represented fairly on the website. So if you'd like to pick them up for yourself, check out your nearest Ulta or search their site for a store near you. You know you want one.
