I'm back and I'm better than ever--with a fresh new tan to prove my whereabouts! Mexico was a blasssst, and getting there by sea is more fun than you will ever know (unless of course you've been there and done that). I was able to order all sorts of crazy-good food every night at a 5-star quality restaurant, only to return and realize that I can't do that anymore on land. Escargot, frog legs, rabbit--you name it! Who'd have known I'd like it that much?!
I was a little MORE than surprised when I first got off in Puerto Vallarta to seek out my first farmacia. I know, I know, I don't necessarily need Retin-A, but why not get a handful, if only because I can? I found myself self-diagnosing every symptom I could think of, in front of the pharmacist so that I could stock up on completely uneccessary (yet, prescription-free!) drugs. Anyhow, to my amazement, I turn around to find one of my all-time favorite sunning products! Now tell me why I had to go all the way down to Mexico to find it, when I have the hardest time finding it here in the states? Usually, I'll order it from Maui or Florida when I run out. And here it was for just a few pesos--bliss! Ocean Potion Moisturizing After Sun Aloe Lotion is the sweetest-smelling, lightest-feeling, daze-inducing, after sun lotion you will ever lay your hands on. You can go and blow a good fifty buckaroos on some expensive chichi lotion at Sephora, or seek out this $8 gem of a lather, and smell superior to the rest of the kiddos at the beach. You can bet I bought out that pharmacy's stock. And I negotiated too!
